1.The Department for Education previously issued a Prior Information Notice (PIN) informing the market of its intention to carry out a procurement exercise to provide Skills Bootcamps to increase the delivery of HGV driver training and licences to create a pipeline of 'road-ready' individuals to fill vacancies in the road haulage industry. Contracts Finder publication reference: https://www.contractsfinder.service.gov.uk/Notice/0dc45ba1-656b-412e-bb09-b48e1a34566e 2.The purpose of this Notice is to inform the market of the Department for Education's intention to commence a call for competition and invite bid submissions through Invitation to Tender, from suitably qualified and experienced HGV Training Providers; awarding contractual agreements to one or more Economic Operators to facilitate HGV driver coverage. The awarded Economic Operators will work closely with the Department to provide Skills Bootcamps to increase the delivery of HGV driver training and licences to create a pipeline of 'road-ready' individuals to fill vacancies in the road haulage industry. 3.Skills Bootcamps aim to secure benefits for adults aged 19+ by giving them access to in-demand skills training and a guaranteed interview with a local employer. The aim is to enable the learner to secure a more sustainable job and higher wages over time. Employers benefit from filling skills shortage vacancies and so becoming more productive, more quickly.
