CAP3881 - Refractive Lasers for Moorfields Eye Hospital.

UCLPartners Procurement Services (PPS) on behalf of Moorfields Eye Hospital NHS Foundation procured two excimer laser platforms including associated diagnostic scanning equipment, and 2 femtosecond lasers for refractive and therapeutic corneal surgery. Both sets of lasers are for the private and NHS patients, and will include all consumables, upgrades, installation, maintenance and training, without any commitment to the Trust to make a capital purchase. The successful bidders will be paid a fee by the Trust for each eye treated;The four lasers required are for use in:Moorfields Eye Hospital — based at the City Road headquarters in London.Contract length will be 2 years (with a break clause at the end of each year), with the option to extend for 3 further 1 year periods (+1, +1, +1). Volumes are expected to be around 1 000 to 2 000 eyes per annum per laser. These lasers are to be installed and operational by July 2015.The lasers were tendered in separate lots with weighting in the technical specification scoring matrix reflecting the following distinct requirements:Lot 1: an excimer laser platform optimised for accuracy and flexibility of treatment programming·Lot 2: an excimer laser platform optimised for routine wavefront guided LASIK·Lot 3: a femtosecond laser optimised for accuracy and flexibility of treatment programming·Lot 4: a femtosecond laser optimised for routine LASIK.
