Carbon Zero Pathway for Lancaster District

Descriptions

Lancaster City Council is delivering a Climate and Nature Strategy for 2025-2030. This will build on the extensive work of the council in meeting the challenges of its climate and ecological emergency declarations. The council is completing work on a Local Area Energy Plan which sets out an evidence-based decarbonisation pathway for energy associated emissions in the district by 2040. To support the development of the Climate and Nature Strategy the council is commissioning a piece of work which provides the greenhouse gas emissions baseline for the district as a whole, sets out the consumption-based emissions for residents, the emissions profile for visitors, GHG footprint by sector, include UK local authority and regional GHG emissions statistics and sets out the decarbonisation pathway and scenario for the district across sectors for a target date of 2040. In relation to the emissions associated with visitors, the council is interested in understanding the increase in visitor emissions associated with Ede
