Cardigan Building Preservation Trust is seeking to appoint a multi-disciplinary Architect-led Design Team to work on the development of the Cardigan Markethall Project Design to RIBA Stage 3 (with a mandatory HLF review point at equivalent RIBA Stage 2).Cardigan Markethall is a fine Grade ll* building and is adjacent to the recently restored Guildhall.The current phase of the project is funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund, The Architectural Heritage Fund, European Regional Funding (Rural Development Fund) and the Trust. Subject to successful funding the team will take the Cardigan Markethall Project forward to the next stage of development and delivery from RIBA 3 to completion.Current proposals for the Markethall will accommodate a range of remedial restoration, repair and mixed uses within the project that will include:Repair and restoration of the MarkethallProvision of improved user and trader facilities from the car parkImproved trader facilitiesAn exhibition spaceThe Team will be expected to possess the following professional skills (as well as any others identified as appropriate within the tender):•those of a Registered Architect and Design Team Leader (RIBA Accredited)•those of a Conservation Architect ( AABC accredited desirable)•Civil and Structural Engineering•Mechanical and Electrical Engineering•Principal Designer skills and experienceand to have demonstrable expertise in the following areas:•Working with protected structures of similar historical importance.•Conservation practice.•Cost estimation (in this project working closely with the Trust’s QS)The project is subject to a strict deadline to comply with funder timetables with completion in July to mid-August.
