The NHS Wales Shared Services Partnership, hosted by Velindre NHS Trust are acting on behalf of Cardiff and Vale University Local Health Board who sought a contract for Care Navigation Training.The aims for this service are;- To ensure all appropriate GP practice staff have the necessary skills and confidence to direct patients to the most appropriately skilled professional.- To ease patient demand on practices and promote sustainability in general practiceThe benefits to be realised for this requirement are that GP Reception/Administrative staff are trained and supported to;- respond to patients needs by providing navigation to appropriate services- utilise active listening and effective questioning to engage with patients and colleagues via telephone, email and face to face.- deal positively with difficult people and situations
