Careers Wales Data Linking – Feasibility Study

The contractors will be expected to undertake a review of the data held by Careers Wales considering the feasibility of linking to other administrative datasets.The following questions should be considered;•what unique information is held in each of the other datasets that would add value to the CW data;•what are the issues in terms of conflicting data items in the different datasets;•what would each add to the possibilities for analysis;•what could be gained in terms of streamlining data collections;•who else could benefit and how?Methods for this study could include a review of provided programme documentation, data system plans and operating manuals, data glossaries, privacy notices and other business supporting documentation.The contractors will be expected to undertake a review of the feasibility of linking Careers Wales data to other data sources outside of what is already linked through SAIL, including but not limited to the datasets listed in the above background section, In addition to these aforementioned datasets considered of the following should also be included;•Department of Work and Pensions data•Her Majesty’s Revenue and Customs (HMRC) dataThis would require gaining an understanding of:•The data available in the Careers Wales database system as it currently stands and as it will be with planned developments, and the feasibility of linking Careers Wales data to other data sources.•The sources and systems of data and evidence currently available which might be useful to link to CW data.•The role of other bodies responsible for data as data controllers and data sharing processes that might need to be put in place to link to CW data, in terms of:othe data they collectohow the data is heldowhere the data is heldothe privacy notices around the data•Any evidence / data gaps.NOTE: To register your interest in this notice and obtain any additional information please visit the Sell2Wales Web Site at https://www.sell2wales.gov.wales/Search/Search_Switch.aspx?ID=110678.
