The Governors of Blatchington Mill School & Sixth Form College wish to invite bidders to provide a school meals service to the School.The School currently employs around 265 employees and serves around 1 700 students. The School wishes to solicit professional, properly defined and costed propositions and solutions for the provision of school meals. The contractor is invited to make creative and innovative proposals aimed at quality, sustainability, environmental and health and safety compliance adopting a whole life costings approach.In summary, the School will be looking for the contractor:— to provide healthy, nutritious meal options in pleasant and orderly environments,— to seek customer satisfaction and understand their needs,— to provide best value,— to provide a flexible, friendly and professional service (responsive to site and user specific requirements),— to work in partnership with the School,— to demonstrate continuous improvement,— to demonstrate a commitment to environmental improvement; awareness of environmental issues relating to the contract and a willingness and capability to minimise negative environmental impact. Effective working practices should support water and energy efficiency and waste minimisation.The contract would be offered as a 3-year contract with an option to extend for 24 months, with an estimated annual income of about 350 000 GBP in the first instance.
