Leyton Sixth Form College is based on a single site in Leyton and receives funding from the Education Funding Agency. In September 2014 the college enrolled over 2 200 students, mainly 16-18 year olds but included a relatively small number of 19+ students. Enrolments to date in 2015 suggest an increase in numbers.The College does have some evening provision, mainly related to its community sports provision and student performances, and is reviewing its strategy as to the future of this type of work. Community sports and lettings also takes place on Saturdays.The College has approximately 180 fte staff.The College operates to traditional terms, however due to the nature of the provision generally finishes before schools and opens fully for enrolment mid-late August around the time of the GCSE results. The College only fully shuts over the Christmas period with support staff still being on site during other holiday periods.The College has sporting activities available to the community Monday-Friday evenings and all day Saturday virtually all year round. This level of activity is partly affected by examinations taking place in the Sports Hall.The College has recently completed a 40 000 000 GBP new build/refurbishment of its campus including enlarged catering facilities and social spaces.The College was graded good by Ofsted in its inspections in 2010 and 2013 and was award Gold and Champion status by IIP in 2012 and 2014.
