Construction of a new road in Houghton Regis, BedfordshireDetailsCentral Bedfordshire Council is promoting a new 3,3 km road scheme in Houghton Regis, Bedfordshire. The scheme has recently been through a public inquiry and is currently awaiting final approval from the Sectary of State (SoS). Funding is in place and pending a satisfactory decision by the SoS works are expected to start early 2015.Further details are provided in an appendix to this document.Subject to a satisfactory decision by the Sectary of State to grant a Development Consent Order for the construction of the Woodside Link, in August 2014 Central Bedfordshire Council propose to invite tenders (in electronic format only) to deliver this road.
