CCBC Environmental Health Food Safety Inspections

The Council requires a number of Food Safety Inspection officers to undertake a number of inspections within the borough up until 31 March 2023. It is anticipated that there will be around 300 inspections that need to be undertaken although this figure is subject to change. It is not expected that one contractor will be able to do all of this.Interested Parties will be required to indicate how much they will charge per inspection. Mileage will be charged in addition to the inspection fee at £00.45p per mile. No other subsidence costs will be paid.The personnel working on this contract must:- Be a qualified Environmental Health Officer;- Registered with the Environmental Health Officers Registration Board;- HACCP qualification;- Must have a good working knowledge of the Food Hygiene Rating (Wales) Act and associated Regulations;- Have at least 1 years experience in issuing Food Hygiene ratings;- Must have professional indemnity Insurance up to £5 million;- Full UK category B driving licence;- The contractor will be required to carry out inspections of C rated and unrated premises up until the 31 March 2023.- CCBCs Lead Food Officer will provide the contractor with the list of inspections together with information relating to the previous history of the premises;- Some inspections will need to be carried out during the evening when the premises are open and possibly on weekends;- The contractor will be required to use the standardised inspection performance and then produce a written report in the format specified by CCBC, within 5 working days of the inspection being undertaken;- The contractor will also need to provide a risk rating for the premises;- The contractor will NOT be required to input any data into the Council’s data management system;- CCBCs Lead Food Officer will monitor the quality of the inspection carried out and should the standard fall below that which is expected the contract will be terminated;- The contractor will be expected to provide their own Laptop and equipment necessary to carry out an inspection and have an email address for us to contact them.- The inspection time varies on the size of the location. The average time it takes to carry out an inspection is 2.5 hours, including travel and report writing.Due to the number of inspections required, it is anticipated this will be awarded to multiple contractors.The Council will consider cost, experience, mileage to be paid, geographical location, availability and previous performance on inspections when allocating work under this contract.Work will be allocated in accordance with the terms and conditions of contract.NOTE: To register your interest in this notice and obtain any additional information please visit the Sell2Wales Web Site at https://www.sell2wales.gov.wales/Search/Search_Switch.aspx?ID=124542.
