CEFAS21-95 RFQ for Pyrolyser furnace for radioanalysis

Descriptions

Cefas (The Centre for Environment, Fisheries and Aquaculture Science) the 'Authority', is an Executive Agency of the UK Government's Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra). It is an applied science agency that primarily supports government decision making whilst extending its reach across the public sector, the EU and wider markets where possible in regard to marine and closely related environments. Cefas requires one new fully combined pyrolyser furnace system for the laboratory, to include six independent/individual work tubes to simultaneously extract volatile radionuclides from six samples. Cefas requires the pyrolyser furnace system to enable the extraction of volatile radionuclides, such as tritium, carbon-14, chlorine-36 and iodine-129 from solid and liquid samples (including foodstuffs, biota, soil, sediment, concrete and other building materials, metals, and bioassay samples). Cefas requires the system to be used in radioanalytical applications and enable the quantification of radionuclides at very low environmental concentrations. Cefas requires the system to be rugged, robust and reliable.
