The Council is seeking to award seed-funding to a user-led organisation(s) to develop a Centre for Independent Living (CIL) that will enhance the well-being and independence of disabled people in Camden. Combined with the seed-funding the Council is looking to award contract funding to the same user-led organisation(s) for the CIL to deliver a learning disabilities experts by experience service.The Centre for Independent Living will be run by disabled people for disabled people, offering information, signposting and support that empowers disabled people to have the choice, control and opportunities they need to live as independently as they want and to be included and valued in society.The learning disabilities experts by experience service will be a specialist service that complements and contributes to the wider pan-disability strategic engagement and influencing function.
