Food Standards Scotland requires a Service Provider to conduct a survey of mycotoxins and alkaloids in plant-based protein products. The aim of the survey is to further understand the risk of presence of mycotoxins in plant-based meats and plant-based protein products. The survey service will provide sampling data on the levels of mycotoxins and plant-based alkaloids in a range of PBPP (containing either soy protein, wheat protein, pea protein or mycoprotein). The results of the survey will be used to inform future surveillance plans for plant-based protein products.
