CHURHDOWN PARISH COUNCIL YOUTH SERVICE PROVISION
Descriptions
Churchdown Parish Council is inviting organisations with the right skills and expertise to work in partnership with Churchdown Parish in •Developing, managing and delivering demand-led youth provision in Churchdown •Facilitating and developing youth participation and representation in Churchdown. We will, through open tender, enter into a 15-month Service Level Agreement (SLA) with one provider, to deliver a range of youth services depending on identified needs in the area. The SLA will run from April 2024- July 2025 We envisage a delivery model which provides flexible local provision covering Churchdown. This will be through a mixture of centre-based sessions, outreach & detached youth work, information, advice and support and joint activities which may involve volunteers or the need to provide transport. Expected Provision 1. The service will work across the two neighbourhood areas of Churchdown [ Brookfield and St. Johns], focused on supporting secondary school aged children; within each location it is expected that there will be 1 x 2 hour session held per week designed for children aged between 11 and 16 (school years 7-11) across the summer term 2024 ( April - July ) and academic year 2024/25 (September 2024 - July i.e. 36 weeks). 2. The provider will also be expected to develop an effective provision of outreach/street-based work to engage hard to reach groups as appropriate, ensuring that this provision is split equally between the two neighbourhood areas. There is recognition that this is likely to include young people outside of the 11-16 age range, and this is positively welcomed. It is anticipated that this will be up to 8 hours per week. 3. The provider will deliver a range of age-appropriate sessions and ensure that these include advice and support on issues of concern to young people e.g.: wellbeing, friendships, relationships, employment, sexual health and mental health. 4. As appropriate the provider will promote other specialist youth services in the area, and seek to encourage greater involvement and engagement with young people and the wider community. It is hoped that ongoing provision will be designed and developed with involvement from young people, as engagement and accessibility are key requirements for providing activities and will continue to evolve over time (subject to regular feedback consultation and evaluation by users). The Parish Council will hold regular monitoring meetings with the provider to discuss progress and to aid decision making.
