Cleaning of Educational Buildings

Rhondda Cynon Taf County Borough Council requires a contractor to provide a cleaning service at a number of educational establishments across the area and to potentially offer a cleaning service that would be available to all its educational establishments. The Council is looking to award a framework to one supplier, subject to a formal tendering process for a period of 3 (plus 1) years to clean certain educational establishments. There are currently 121 primary schools and 19 Secondary schools within the Council. At this time approximately 70 primary schools, 10 Secondary schools plus 4 other educational establishments have expressed an interest in being part of the contract. Potentially the framework could include all primary and secondary schools and any other educational establishments and the potential value of the tender of £9,000,000 over the potential 4 year period has been calculated on this basis. The initial take up value is estimated at £4,800,000 over the potential 4 year period.TUPE obligations are likely to be applied for this process.All staff are required to be CRB checked at an enhanced level for the contract start date.
