SummaryThe Health Board are looking for innovative ways that will ‘Future Proof Coding for a Digital Health system’.When patients currently receive treatment within a hospital environment, data on their treatment is captured in a variety of formats. The data is currently being saved within a physical paper based health record. All Clinical Coding departments in Wales are required to collect data on patient’s conditions, diagnosis and treatments once the patient has been discharged from hospital. This project ‘Patient Data Revolution’ aims to assist clinical coders in achieving a 98 per cent completion rate for coding this data by reducing the reliance on physical manual coding. BCU has a mixed economy of paper and digital records which are predominately paper. BCU have committed to a digital strategy which will require any potential solution to work with both.A total of up to GBP250,000 (inc. VAT) is allocated to this competition which will run in 2 phases; Phase 1 (Feasibility Study) will be for up to 4 or 5 projects with a max total of GBP50,000 available for this phase. Phase 2 (Demonstrator Phase) will be for up to 2 projects with a max GBP100,000 per project.
