Clinical Cover for Inpatient Units: Humber NHS Foundation Trust.

Descriptions

Humber NHS Foundation Trust (HFT) is reviewing the medical model for the East Riding Community Hospital (ERCH), Withernsea Community Hospital (WCH) and Macmillian Wolds Unit at Bridlington HospitalThe aim is to secure a provider/s of medical cover for the wards that will have full autonomy in all clinical decision making and act as the Responsible Medical Officer (RMO). It is expected that the provider/s of service will ensure that there is adequate continuity in the medical cover provided to ensure continuity of care for patients and effective operational delivery. The provider/s of the services must provide and develop services that are efficient, cost-effective and responsive to the needs of the people who use them, both as in-patient admissions and for day-case services. It is also expected that the provider/s will work in partnership with all stakeholders in the transformation of services. The community hospitals will play an essential part in emerging schemes which ensure better utilisation of the beds, prevention of avoidable admissions to acute hospitals, improved patient flow and increased treatment options. The Provider/s will provide appropriate clinical cover to meet the needs for medical cover of in-patients in community beds across all Community Hospital sites in East Yorkshire. The appropriate clinical cover must deliver a safe service and may include both nurse-led and medical models, delivered by a suitably qualified clinician such as a Doctor licensed to work independently, reflecting the most appropriate operational model of delivery for each Community Hospital, to enable standardised and consistent access to all beds and in agreement with the Trust. How to Express Interest in this Tender:1.
