Coalburn to Douglas Active Travel Path

Descriptions

Community Action Lanarkshire (CAL) wishes to commission construction design and survey work for an Active Travel project which links the villages of Coalburn and Douglas in rural South Lanarkshire, to enable local people to choose walking, cycling, and wheeling for everyday functional journeys. CAL has successfully secured Construction Design funding for the work from Paths for All with up to GBP43,000 available from the Ian Findlay Path Fund’s 2022/23 pot, for delivery in 2023/24. CAL will be acting as the client for the work to be carried out under this funding. The project builds on previous (and current) work undertaken through Smarter Choices Smarter Places and Sustrans projects locally and compliments existing work CAL has developing around Active travel community mapping in the Douglas Valley.
