Cognitive testing of National Survey for Wales income questions and advance materials

The Welsh Government wishes to commission two distinct elements of cognitive testing.•Cognitive testing of the Advance materials to be used in the National Survey for Wales 2017-18. These materials include an advance letter and advance leaflet as well as an advance postcard. The materials to be tested will build on those used in 2016-17. The materials will be introduced from 1 April 2017 and the cognitive testing will need to be completed by mid-February 2017.•Cognitive testing of a housing conditions survey consent question plus a number of income questions, to be included in the National Survey for Wales 2017-18 questionnaire. The 2017-18 questionnaire will be used from 1 April 2017 but the income related questions will be introduced from the start of quarter 2 (1 July 2017). The cognitive testing will need to take place from January 2017 with the findings on the consent question available by mid February 2017 and the findings on the income questions available by end February 2017.
