Puffin Produce Ltd is Wales’ largest premier Potato and Vegetable packing firm. Based in Haverfordwest, Pembrokeshire and established in 1995 the business is wholly owned by the farmers and growers who supply them. The company has grown year on year over the last five years.Puffin Produce Ltd’s growth has been built on proactive engagement with the major retailers and their ability to secure contracts with Asda, Tesco, Sainsbury, Morrisons, Waitrose and M&S. In order to maintain supply contracts with these leading retailers, Puffin Produce has been at the forefront of continuous development that includes expansion of its facilities and range to motivate increased sales and product marketability.Puffin Produce plan investment in further increasing scale, efficiency and infrastructure of the current potato operation.This invitation to tender is aligned to securing the necessary products and services to facilitate the construction of additional cold storage facilities at Puffin Produce Ltd’s site in Withybush, Haverfordwest. This project is supported with European Union funding secured through Welsh Government’s Food Business Investment Scheme. In so doing, Puffin Produce Ltd have a requirement to adhere to EC Procurement Directives in testing the market and demonstrating value for money.The development project seeks competent suppliers to provide a Turnkey operation that will include the following schedule of activities:Foundations/Drainage/ -Please refer to supporting schedule Externalsof worksSteel/Cladding-Please refer to supporting Engineering and Design drawings-The cladding works are detailed below:--Roof – 100mm composite such as Kingspan KS1000RW, Goosewing Grey-Internal Ceiling – single skin lining panel (white) with 100mm glassfibre above-Side Cladding – Same as roof but with two end bays clad down to 3.7m below eaves-Dividing walls internally – Kingspan KS1000RW each side of columns to form end wall between bays 3&4; Kingspan 150mm cold store panels to divide bays 1&2 and 2&3.-Gutters – plastisol coated steel-Downpipes – 150 square plastisol coated steelSlab-Please refer to supporting Engineering and Design drawingsCooling-Installation of new cold storage refrigeration units in a purpose built storage unit with composite insulated panels.-Systems supplied must provide advanced energy and environmentally efficient operations with minimal noise.-Equipped to cater for the cooling of 1400 x 1.1 tonne potato crates (1,540 tonnes of potatoes) to a continual temperature of 3°C.-To use R407f refrigerant-Three Phase electricity is available-Minimum of 2 year warranty requiredElectrical-Please refer to the supporting electrical works package documents from CCF01132017 – 00002 to 00006Fees-Design, Engineering & Project ManagementPrelims- Associated costsExternals-Chain link perimeter fencing – 1.8m heightMaterials-All necessary back fill and sub base.Racking systemComprising 3000 x Vegetable/Potato crates designed and built to BS7611 standards with imported kiln dried timber.INTERNAL box Specification:1.1 tonne potato boxBS7611 1992.
