Collection, Haulage and Processing of Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE)
Descriptions
North Ayrshire Council (“NAC”) requires a number of services for the collection of a variety of waste streams that are deposited at Household Waste Recycling Centres (HWRCs) and Transfer Stations registered by it as Designated Collection Facilities (DCFs). This agreement will be for service provision for the collection, haulage and processing of Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) as defined within current regulations including large appliances, small appliances and other WEEE, cooling equipment, display equipment and lamps collected at the kerbside in bulky uplifts or deposited at HWRCs. NAC is keen to secure added value from any agreement with suitable organisations (Producer compliance schemes (PCS) that arrange for WEEE to be collected and treated, recycled or reused on behalf of their members) and are interested in receiving brief indications of improved and innovative approaches that would deliver such to enable an understanding of the approach to be considered to procure a longer-term agreement. The contract will be agreed for two years with the potential for an extension beyond the initial period. Suppliers interested in this potential opportunity must complete the attached questionnaire and return by email to pamelaorton@north-ayrshire.gov.uk, Assistant Procurement Officer (Corporate Procurement) by close of business Monday 8th April 2024.
