This programme combines the support and educational aspects of two existing and very successful contracts; Environmental Education Services Programme and the Community Action Group (CAG) project. The CAG project delivers targeted community support for grass roots action on climate change, carrying the key waste and energy messages from local government out into the community. Supporting and enabling groups to develop community identity and purpose, social inclusion and engagement on wider issues.Through outreach work the environmental education programme contributes to raising attainment and improving knowledge, skills and understanding of sustainable waste and energy management. By supporting pathfinder schools to promote environmental champions and develop energy policies wider influence and impact is achieved.Acting as a catalyst for positive behaviour change within schools and the wider community, the programme is about; delivering community support for environmental improvement and social benefit, providing outreach environmental educational work to schools across the county.
