BACKGROUNDCommunity Enterprise Networks (CEN) is an ERDF funded project which operates under Priority 5 Theme 2. CEN will contribute to the long term cultural change in communities, building enterprises in areas which have seen dramatic and continuous levels of decline in traditional industries.Community Enterprise Networks are designed to provide and support an enabling environment for local enterprise growth and the establishment of social enterprises in disadvantaged communities. These Enterprise Networks act as a springboard by promoting and sustaining the capabilities of people to participate and contribute, and through doing so improve their prosperity and that of the wider community and economy. Community Enterprise Networks will advance long term regeneration benefiting the most deprived areas of Bridgend, Merthyr and Rhondda Cynon Taff thereby progressing Community Economic Development (Theme 2).An open tendering process will be in operation for this project. PURPOSE OF THE ENTERPRISE CHANNELThe Enterprise Channel will:• Add value to investment in existing provision by offering CEN delivery agents a network for showcasing and sharing their work with new audiences. • Play host to an interactive forum encouraging social enterprises and the South East Wales Community Economic Development Steering Group (SEWCED) to network.• Provide an innovative platform that will deliver high quality content focussing on third sector enterprise. • Be available throughout 24 hours of the day, 365 days a year. The viewers will watch programming in full screen, as if they were watching a terrestrial channel.• Provide an unparalleled, superior service unmatched in Wales: Contributing to regeneration, creating a vibrant digital environment, one that social business can participate in. • Provide a great way for CEN’s to network.• Reach the local community who are more likely to access their local enterprise channel than more official websites.The Enterprise Channel will provide the necessary training and technical know-how and expertise to enable the CEN delivery agents to connect with and develop this high-end technology.The Enterprise Channel will introduce itself to the CEN delivery agents to discuss process and content for uploading material onto the channel. The channel will feature stories of social entrepreneurs that will be shared throught the convergence area; provide interactive conversations between entrepreneurs; and information about all providers in the social economy and how to access them.The total amount of ERDF finance for the grant totals £60,000.00 including VAT.All requests for clarification or further information in respect of this tender should be addressed to info@timebankingwales.org.ukAll responses to questions regarding the tender will be displayed at www.timebankingwales.org.uk under the CEN PQQ tab.
