Community Organisers Expansion Programme

A delivery partner is needed to expand the existing number of Community Organisers recruited to 10,000 by March 2020. The ultimate aim is to mobilise residents in England’s most deprived neighbourhoods to take action on the things that matter most to them. This represents a second phase of the original Community Organisers Programme, which was delivered by Locality from 2010 – 2015. As part of that programme, over 6,500 Community Organisers were recruited and an independent legacy body was set up, the Company of Community Organisers Ltd (CO Ltd). The Authority is therefore running a series of pre-tender engagement events with Community Organisers trained through the previous programme, residents who have been supported by Community Organisers, and organisations that have invested in community organising.
