Descriptions
The FSAI is seeking submissions in relation to the development of an online solution to enable food business operators to make compliant nutrition and health claims on food. When making any nutrition or health claim, food and drink producers are required to adhere to European Regulation. Regulation (EC) No. 1924/2006 on nutrition and health claims made on food aims to protect the consumer from being misled and to provide them with clear, accurate and substantiated information to facilitate consumer choice. The online solution will be designed in order to overcome the barriers to compliance and will be incorporated into the Food Safety Authority of Ireland’s website design (www.fsai.ie) using existing HTML/CSS templates, to ensure the design, branding etc. of the website remains consistent.
