1.4 IntroductionEdinburgh Building Services (EBS) carry out responsive repairs and planned maintenance programmes for City of Edinburgh Council homes and has an annual budget of circa 28 000 000 GBP.This Contract Notice covers the following 5 areas of EBS spend which have been divided into 5 Lots. This is for the supply and delivery of:Lot 1 — Composite Door Sets; estimated value 340 000 GBP to 400 000 GBP (over 2 years).Lot 2 — PVCu, Timber and Aluminium Windows; estimated value 330 000 GBP to 380 000 GBP (over 2 years).Lot 3 — UPVC Fittings; estimated value 16 000 GBP to 24 000 GBP (over 2 years).Lot 4 — Glass and Double Glaze Units; estimated value 70 000 GBP to 80 000 GBP (over 2 years).Lot 5 — Ironmongery for Windows and Doors; estimated value 90 000 GBP to 110 000 GBP (over 2 years).This Contract will be for a maximum period of 2 years (1+1). The Contract value is advertised at up to 994 000 GBP (497 000 GBP per annum). However, it should be noted that the volume and value of orders instructed under this contract are indicative of historical work programmes and cannot be guaranteed. No claim for loss of profit, direct or indirect disruption costs or loss/expense will be considered where the volume and value of the orders instructed under this contract varies from those stated.Suppliers may place bids for any of the Lots under this Contract. A bid submitted under a specific Lot is understood as being a bid for that relevant Lot only and not as a bid for any other Lot under this Contract. The value of the Contract for Composite Doors under Lot 1 is advertised as 400 000 GBP (200 000 GBP per annum). This figure is indicative and is not to be understood as a guarantee.A high standard of communication and customer care will be expected and key performance indicators (KPI) will be set as part of the Contract.No claim for loss of profit, direct or indirect, disruptions costs or loss/expense will be considered where the contract is not renewed at any point in time.1.5 Scope of SupplyFully detailed specifications will be issued to all shortlisted applicants invited to tender. The brief specifications outlined below are given to allow potential suppliers the opportunity to view the minimum standards required on this contract.Lot 1 — Composite DoorsThe Contract under Lot 1 is for the supply and delivery of ad hoc Composite Door Sets. The requirement under this Contract will be to replace ad hoc doors as required to suit EBS fitting programme.The specifications listed below in relation to each good are indicative of what the suppliers may be expected to provide. This list is not exhaustive and other specifications may be required under this Contract.The following goods may be required under this Contract:(i) FD30 and FD60 doors — various styles(ii) Fire-resistant hardwood side screens(iii) Fire-resistant hardwood fanlights(iv) Glazing areas.Lot 2 - PVCu, Timber and Aluminium Windows:The Contract under Lot 2 is for the supply and delivery of ad hoc PVCu, Timber and Aluminium Windows.The requirement under this Contract will be to replace ad hoc windows as required to suit EBS fitting programme.The specifications listed below in relation to each good are indicative of what the suppliers may be expected to provide.
