In this instance ESPO is approaching the marketplace to establish a new framework designed to engage suitably qualified suppliers to source and deliver directly to eligible end-user establishments as follows Lot 1 - Confectionery, Snacks and Sweets and Lot 2 – Single and Multi Portion Cakes and Biscuits, who then sell the products on to staff and visitors via their own catering service. This new Framework will replace the existing Lot 1 of the ESPO Framework 899/12 - Confectionery and Impulse Ice Cream. It is expected that Customers who currently access Lot 1 under the Current ESPO Framework 899/12 will migrate over to this new 899/14 Framework. Lot 2 of the current Framework 899/12 will continue to run alongside the new 899/14 Framework.The requirements also include (but not limited to): cake, cake slices, tulip and standard muffins, flapjacks, plain and flavoured shortbread bars, rice and corn cakes, plain and flavoured cookies.Whilst initially for use by local authorities served by ESPO (see www.espo.org for further details), being a Central Purchasing Body as defined by the EU Combined Procurement Directive 2004/18/EC, the Framework Agreement may also be open for use by the following classifications of user throughout all administrative regions of the UK: Local Authority Councils; Educational Establishments (including Academies); Police, Fire & Rescue and Coastguard Emergency Services; NHS and HSC Bodies, including Ambulance Services; Registered Charities; Registered Social Landlords; Central Government Departments and their Agencies.
