The project will provide advice for families to help them resolve their legal, money and other problems they face and improve the policies and practices that affect people’s lives. Impartial advice will be provided to everyone on their rights and responsibilities which will be free, independent and confidential.The project will bring together elements of two approaches to assist families to deal with any short-term crisis situation and begin to develop the financial knowledge and skills that they need to prevent crises arising in the future. Work will be delivered in a reactive and proactive way, ensuring that people have the skills, knowledge and confidence to make the financial choices that are right for them and help them avoid crises.The overall purpose of the project will be to assist the family to acquire the knowledge and skills that they need to take control of their financial situation and move them into a position where they can begin planning ahead for their financial future.The approach of the project will be to deliver a bespoke professional, pragmatic and outcome focused support service on financial capability issues. The service will include debt advice.designed to:•Stabilise the family’s financial situation•Make sure that they receive everything they are entitled to (maximise income)•Prioritise the most important debts•Negotiate with creditors•Identify a debt management strategy appropriate to their particular circumstancesOrganisations must•Be properly licensed to deliver regulated debt advice and full casework.•Have advisers that are Institute of Money Advice (IMA) members at least one of which must hold the CIMAP qualification and as required by the IMA provide on-going evidence of their continuing fitness to hold the qualification.•Must have at least one active DRO intermediary who can process DRO applications for service users.•Must work to a recognised quality standard that includes independent audits covering CPD, advice, casework and case management.•Commitment to producing statistical and other client information, including highlighting issues that affect residents.NOTE: To register your interest in this notice and obtain any additional information please visit the Sell2Wales Web Site at http://www.sell2wales.gov.uk/Search/Search_Switch.aspx?ID=20371.
