Wrexham Cemetery is a Victorian Cemetery with Grade II Listed Buildings and a Grade II cemetery on the register of Historic Parks and Gardens of Wales. The cemetery plays an important role in understanding Wrexham's cultural heritage. Cadw consider the cemetery is of local, regional and national significance, due to its well preserved nature. The project involves the conservation of the Victorian landscape and improving access through better surfacing and access control. Restoration of the cemetery’s buildings and structures, to create safe facilities with a sustainable use will be important, as will the interpretation of the site and the involvement of the community, through volunteering and educational opportunities.Wrexham County Borough Council is seeking to appoint consultants to carry out project planning work to enable Wrexham County Borough Council to submit a second round application for the Parks for People Heritage Lottery Fund Grant.
