Consultancy to Undertake Review of the School Transport Function within North Wales

Help us on our journey…….The six North Wales Councils, Anglesey, Conwy, Denbighshire, Flintshire, Gwynedd and Wrexham are seeking an experienced consultancy to help transform and improve the school transport services of each council.The six councils have agreed a vision to “develop and deliver good quality, cost effective transport services locally determined and consumed, delivered in partnership by shared specialist transport teams. Services will be consistent, meet local needs and be of sufficient scale to enable market management and effective, highly efficient administration.”The six councils have already delivered a review of the procurement of school transport services which has delivered savings through the North Wales Procurement Partnership and our dedicated and transport teams.The successful consultant will deliver route reviews, review client commissioning and de-commissioning processes, review management and staffing arrangements and advise on how to develop shared services, review IT systems and advise on how to improve them.The review will also ensure that procurement best practice is fully deployed throughout the region.We have great transport teams who know their patch and have delivered a lot with limited resources. To deal with the coming financial crisis and maintain services we have to step up a gear and think differently. Your job is to help take us to a new level of performance by breaking out of our normal boundaries.The work will be commissioned by Flintshire County Council on behalf of the six North Wales Councils.
