Tai Calon Community Housing seek to appoint a suitably qualified and experienced consultant to undertake visual and destructive surveys of a sample of the blocks and all of the elevated walkways, access bridges and ramps. TCCH require information about the form and current condition of the blocks and ancillary access structures so that their adequacy for future service can be established.The Key duties for this requirement include but are not limited to;•A full review of the existing structural records relating to the structures on site. We envisage this to include review of the Structural Survey elements of the WYG masterplan and survey reports provided by previous structural engineers.•Intrusive surveys to:oestablish materials, forms, elements and details of the structures;oestablish the location and details of structural connections;olocate and identify structural defects or deterioration of materials;oestablish the levels of concrete cover to embedded reinforcement and establish the depth of carbonation (to conform to BS EN 14630);oobtain samples of concrete for testing at a UKAS laboratory to establish the presence of chlorides and cement content (to conform to BS 1881-124:2015).oexpose, measure, establish and assess the key structural elements of the structures.•Non intrusive and intrusive surveys to plot reinforcement in concrete.•The consultant will be responsible for making good finishes following intrusive surveys to ensure the buildings maintain weather tightness.•A full visual survey of the buildings and structures on the site assessing condition and lifespan of concrete components.•Propose concrete repair solutions.•Condition ratings, repair works & costs are to be prioritized over a 30 year period.•Provision of a structural report.•The consultant will be required to attend a pre-start meeting to agree the scope of works and methodology for the surveys prior to starting on site.Further information relating to the scope of works can be found in the Invitation to tender documents on etenderwalesProject 41334ITT - 73453NOTE: The authority is using eTenderwales to carry out this procurement process.
