City and County of Swansea as lead body for the Regional Essential Skills for the Workforce (RES) project is seeking to commission an external agent to evaluate the implementation of the project with its underpinning contractors as delivery agents.The Regional Essential Skills for the Workforce project, developed through the Regional Learning Partnership, is a Regional Strategic Project covering the 5 local authority areas of Neath Port Talbot, Swansea, Carmarthenshire, Pembrokeshire and Ceredigion, with the main aims of promoting and delivering basic skills to employed people. It will also include delivery of literacy, numeracy and ICT skills up to Level 2 including ICT and ESOL.The Business Plan covers the period 1 March 2010 to 31 August 2014, representing investment of £5.8m in activities. The funding package includes £3.8m of European Union support from the European Social Fund along with match funding provided by the contractors.
