There were 273 motorcyclists that were killed or seriously injured (KSI) on Welsh roads in 2015. Of this 25 were fatal, 248 were seriously injured and 420 were slightly injured.Motorcyclists account for 0.2% of traffic in Wales, whilst motorcycle riders make up 41% of KSI’s of all motor vehicle drivers.Swansea is one of three Local Authorities in Wales with the highest number of motorcycle casualties, aged between 16 -24, riding motorcycles over 50cc and up to 125cc motorcycles.As a result, the City & County of Swansea (CCoS) Road Safety Team has secured funding from The Welsh Government to provide 100 Rider Safe training places for 16 – 24 year olds, consisting of theoretical and practical training designed specifically for new moped and low powered 2 wheel riders.Captured by the need to obtain a certificate to ride a motorcycle as a provisional licence holder, Rider Safe will be offered to first-time riders by an Approved Training Body (ATB) and is divided into three modules and includes the Compulsory Basic Training (CBT) as part of the course.Accredited and registered Driving Vehicle Standards Agency motorcycle instructors will deliver all elements.NOTE: To register your interest in this notice and obtain any additional information please visit the Sell2Wales Web Site at http://www.sell2wales.gov.wales/Search/Search_Switch.aspx?ID=66419.The buyer has indicated that it will accept electronic responses to this notice via the Postbox facility.
