Contract for the Collection, Reprocessing of Bagged, Unbagged Paper and Baled Cardboard

Descriptions

Swansea Council is seeking to procure services for the collection and reprocessing of domestic mixed paper and cardboard collected at the kerbside plus baled cardboard collected via the Household Waste Recycling Centres (HWRC's) and commercial collections.

The Council currently collects domestic mixed paper and cardboard at the kerbside from around 111,000 properties. Whilst we currently predominantly collect domestic mixed paper and cardboard in single-use plastic bags, we are in the process of changing to using reuseable bags, due to commence in Spring 2025. The roll-out of reusable containers will be phased throughout the County which will result in a reduction of bagged product and increase in un-bagged product.

The Pricing Schedule requires that a rate per tonne inclusive of collection, haulage, reprocessing/treatment, and disposal of rejects be submitted.
