Contract for the Provision of Internal Audit Services to the Northern Education Trust.

The procurement is being led by the Borough Council of Gateshead on behalf of the Northern Education Trust. The Northern Education Trust will enter into contractual arrangements with the successful organisation.Northern Education Trust (the Trust) is a company limited by guarantee with exempt charitable status, registered number 7189647.As of January 2014 the Trust is responsible for 15 academies (6 secondary and 9 primary). The Trust envisages planned, incrimental expansion beyond this point.The Trust is looking to appoint a competent registered Internal Auditor who holds qualifications in the relevant Audit, Accountancy and Charities sectors to assist the Board of Directors in the checking of financial controls system, transactions and risks.The Contractor must ensure that all staff used in the performance of this contract have a suitable level of expertise, qualification and experience in the relevant sectors. The Contractor must ensure that they have the resources to provide a dedicated and consistent team to work on this contract.No subcontracting will be allowed for any part of the Internal Audit Provision throughout the length of this contract.Tenderers mus have experience of working with multi academy trusts (MAT) for over two years or employ a partner with experience of MATS who is able to show a high level of relevant experience and expertise in the Academy sector.Please note there will be a conflict of interest regarding the Internal and External Audit provision and the successful Tenderer for this contract will not able to Tender for the External Audit provision which is due to be Tendered within the next 12 months.
