Contract for the purchase of Milling and Sieving Equipment

Descriptions

Milling/sieving equipment will now be purchased to prepare a wide range of different carbon-based materials (e.g. coal, coke, biomass, paper, plastic, tyres etc.) for further testing as potential raw materials for use in iron and steel making. The combination of instruments is capable of consistently producing milled samples across a range of different particles sizes (mm to μm sizes). To be specific, the milling/sieving instruments is able to accept initial feed sizes of 60-80mm and mill these down to particle sizes of 1μm (i.e. 5-6 orders of magnitude reduction in particle size). As this is not possible in one step or on one instrument, 3 milling instruments will be purchased; a cutting mill, an ultra-centrifugal mill and a planetary ball mill. We have also awarded the purchase of an automated sieve shaker to separate samples into different particle size ranges. Thus, the whole milling/sieving equipment was sub-divided into 4 sub-systems (see below) which will operate sequentially.1.Cutting mill2.Ultra-centrifugal mill3.Planetary ball mill4.Automated sieve shakerOne supplier has been awarded to supply and deliver ALL specified milling/sieving equipment.
