Vegetation Management on the Public Highway (Weed Control). This is expected to meet service requirements for up to 12 Months.The specification for treatment of central reserves, footways, link paths, paved surfaces and rear lanes is wholly outputbased. The contractors will decide on all aspects of the service delivery and submit details.The network of Swansea varies substantially with a densely populatedcity surrounded by a number of towns and rural villages. The County is temperate with recent warm but wet seasons.There is significantinfestation with Buddleia and Japanese Knotweed as well as otherpernicious weeds.The vast majority of surfaces are macadam with the remainder beingpaved slabs or small element paving. An estimated 25% of all surfaces are described as in poor condition. There is also asignificant amount of detritus which promotes weed growth.
