The Health Improvement Division of the Welsh Government is responsible for managing the Welsh Government’s workplace health programme ‘Healthy Working Wales’, which is delivered by Public Health Wales. Healthy Working Wales includes the Corporate Health Standard, the national mark of quality for health and well-being in the workplace, which is complemented by the Small Workplace Health Award for smaller businesses and organisations with up to 50 employees.The main aims of this research contract are:•To assess the outcomes achieved by businesses and organisations following a new application for the Corporate Health Standard and Small Workplace Health Award;•To assess the additional outcomes achieved by businesses and organisations applying for a higher level of award;•To develop and pilot a core data set for ongoing monitoring by employers of outcomes from continued participation in the Corporate Health Standard and Small Workplace Health Award;•To carry out an assessment of the economic costs to businesses and organisations of applying for the awards.The contract will operate in the 2011-12 and 2012-13 financial years.
