The Children’s Directorate at Bridgend County Borough Council will shortly be seeking to recommission six individual Lead Provider organisations to deliver the second phase of the Families First Programme. The programme aims to give a more integrated approach to the provision of prevention and early intervention services to children, young people and their families who are in or at risk of poverty.The funding to support this second phase is being provided through Welsh Government’s decision to continue to support development of the Families First programme. This second tranche of funding is to be made available from April 2014 to the end of March 2017, though it is still subject to confirmation.The successful bidders would be contracted to lead one of the following six programmes.Programme 1: Family Learning and EngagementProgramme 2: Parenting SupportProgramme 3: Childcare supportProgramme 4: Family SupportProgramme 5: Physical and Emotional Wellbeing SupportProgramme 6: Disability SupportBCBC intends to hold a stakeholder event to begin this recommissioning process and an invitation is being extended to any organisation which may wish to tender for and lead on one of the programmes named above.The stakeholder event will be held at 10.00am in Bethlehem Church Life Centre, Bryn Glas, Cefn Cribwr, Bridgend.
