The Council invites suitably qualified and experienced contractors to tender for individual contracts to provide and operate Household Waste Recycling Centres in the following areas:MachynllethNewtownWelshpoolEach Facility will accept household waste and recycling (including bulky waste), sort, store and transport these materials to reprocessors and/or licensed disposal sites.The emphasis within these contracts will be to provide a high quality service to the public to ensure that Recycling and Re-use of materials is maximised. The Council has stringent statutory targets set by the Welsh Government and these contracts will be instrumental in ensuring that the Council meets these targets.The Council has extended the tender date to 2nd December 2013 to allow potential contractors sufficient time to identify suitable sites and apply for/gain the necessary permissions to enable service mobilisation by the anticipated start date of 1st April 2014.NOTE: The authority is using eTenderwales to carry out this procurement process.
