Conwy County Borough Council wishes to invite tenders for the construction of Conwy Cycle Routes, Betws y Coed.Conwy County Borough Council in partnership with DenbighshireCounty Council has been successful in securing funding from Visit Wales under the Environment for Growth European Regional Development Fund Convergence Programme with the vision of: ‘Creating an area acknowledged nationally as an outstanding all year round destination for road and offroad cycling for all in outstanding and contrasting scenery’ under the Rural Cycling Centre of Excellence Programme.This Contract is to construct the infrastructure works needed for the creation of an iconic three to four day natural trail ride linking surrounding communities in and around Betws y Coed as part of the Cycling Centre of Excellence.This project will see the creation of two cycle routes with a combined length of approximately 52km, with the work focussed on approximately 8.5km which is upgraded or improved cycle trail build.
