The Sustainable Environment Research Centre-SERC undertakes national and world-leading research into waste treatment and the sustainable production of energy from waste and grown biomass. To achieve this, considerable investment has been made into the facilities available to researchers and students.SERC is looking for the following pieces of equipment to compliment its existing range of laboratory equipment in order to facilitate its research as well as the variety of educational opportunities it offers.Cooling jackets and refrigeration unit required to the following output specificationCritical parameters are as follows:•Four cooling jackets required. Each must be able to cover a standard 55 US gallon drum (diameter 572 mm, height 851 mm) completely•The drums are made from carbon steel, and has a thickness of between 1.0 mm and 1.5 mm•The substance being cooled will be either food waste or sewage sludge•This is a non flowing system, that is the contents of the drums will not be continuously pumped around the system•The expected ambient temperature will be 21°C•There will be no wind chill•The contents of the barrels will likely be supplied at a temperature of 21°C and will need to be cooled to 4°C ± 1°C within 24 hours of the cooling jackets being activated•A 240 V DC power source is required, with 3 m of power cable•Required delivery time would be 4-5 weeks from the placing of the order.NOTE: To register your interest in this notice and obtain any additional information please visit the Sell2Wales Web Site at http://www.sell2wales.gov.wales/Search/Search_Switch.aspx?ID=63442.
