Cotoneaster Control- Eryrys
Descriptions
Cotoneaster species were originally introduced to the UK from Asia in the 19th century as anornamental garden species. Since then, these species have spread widely across the UK including to important limestone crags, cliffs, slopes and dry grasslands in north Wales.This contract will aim to control non-native cotoneaster species on 2 sites within Eyrys SSSI (shown on map).Herbicide spraying and stump treatment will be used to treat cotoneaster onsite. Treatment method will be dependent on cotoneaster density and specified on teatment map. An appropriate dye marker must be used with the herbicide so that the plants treated can easily be identified by NWWT and NRW. PA1 and PA6AW will be required.
