Countering the under-achievement of boys
Descriptions
To develop a programme to improve the performance and achievement of boys by establishing a national programme of interventions to address the wide range of issues which undermine and form barriers to boys’ achievement in schools. The programme will support the Welsh Assembly Government’s aims under the National Literacy Plan to raise the literacy levels of pupils aged 7-11 who have difficulties with oracy, reading and writing of English and/or Welsh and who are at risk of disengagement from education.
