The award is for the recycling of glass bottles and jars collected from household kerbside collections, bring banks and recycling centres. Glass is bulked at numerous stockpiles across Devon, either separated or mixed, in preparation for transportation.Participants at Contract Commencement will be Devon County Council as lead authority, procuring on behalf of East Devon District Council, Exeter City Council, Mid Devon District Council and Teignbridge District Council. The Contract is being let for the benefit and potential future participation of other Devon Authorities Waste Reduction and Recycling Committee (DAWRRC) members who are North Devon District Council, Plymouth City Council, South Hams District Council, Torbay Council, Torridge District Council, West Devon Borough Council and South Molton Recycle.
