CPU6176 - Provision of Mentoring (Education) Services

The Authority is seeking to commission a service to provide high quality, mentoring support to 15-25 children in care per year, as identified by the Nottingham City Virtual School. The role of the Mentors will be to work directly with Service Users, as directed by the Virtual School, to improve their wellbeing and level of engagement in education, by planning and delivering activities appropriate and agreeable to the Service User's needs, aspirations and wishes. This service will be provided by one Provider. Nottingham City Virtual School is a statutory service that supports and monitors the education of children in care and previously looked-after children (Service Users), to champion the educational needs of these children and help them to achieve the best possible outcomes. The Virtual School provides advice and support to professionals working with Nottingham City children in care and children who reside in the Nottingham local authority area who have previously been looked-after. The Virtual School work closely with teachers, school governors, social workers, independent reviewing officers (IROs), parents and carers, and plays a strategic role in ensuring the corporate parenting responsibilities of the local authority are met, with regard to the education of children in care. The contract duration will from 1st January 2025 to the 31st July 2026, with a possible extension period/s of up to a further two years at the Authority's discretion. The contract value is estimated to be £179,166 over the total length of the contract (including any extensions). This will be split as below: 1st January 2025 to the 31st July 2026 = £79,166, split by • 1st January 2025 to the 31st July 2025 = £29,166 • 1st August 2025 to the 31st July 2026 = £50,000 1st August 2026 to the 31st July 2027 = £50,000 (if contract extended) 1st August 2027 to the 31st July 2028 = £50,000 (if contract extended). The current provider has stated they believe TUPE applies.
