Creating Sustainable Training Packages

Descriptions

The Reach the Heights projects represent a Welsh Assembly Government led suite of strategic projects designed to provide young people with skills that will help them to remain engaged or re-engage with employment, education and training. The project framework focuses on young people aged 11-19 and seeks to improve educational outcomes and provide a range of support to promote better transition and progression into and throughout further learning and future employment. As part of its Reach the Heights project, the Welsh Assembly Government wishes to commission the development and delivery of a training programme for front line practitioners on Demonstrating Success building upon the previous work undertaken. The Demonstrating Success Toolkit provides tools to demonstrate the following aspects of social and emotional dispositions and skills:•Interaction•Motivation and participation•Independence and•Relationships. The Demonstrating Success project aims to develop a means of showing what difference WAG policies actually make to the lives, and the behaviours of young people in receipt of services. It is an innovative and far-reaching project which provides greater sanction for the skills and dispositions which all young people need in order to succeed in all aspects of their lives. By providing a common language, underpinned by an academic paradigm and a framework for demonstrating progress, we intend to encourage providers of services to give much greater emphasis to these wider skills. A range of previous projects have been undertaken to develop Demonstrating Success in conjunction with a broad based stakeholder Steering Group. This work has resulted in production of handbooks for practitioners and policy makers. The most recent project commenced in 2007 and builds upon previous work undertaken for 14-19 Learning Pathways and Extending Entitlement. It will complete in December 2010.The aim of this project is to:Develop and deliver a sustainable training programme to increase and enhance the use of the Demonstrating Success Toolkit which will support this evidence based model in measuring the progress and outcomes of children and young people in Wales. The Welsh Assembly Government, on behalf of the Welsh Ministers, will be conducting this If the process is being let using the e-procurement process the following wording should be added (If not this and all references to bravo solutions should be deleted): procurement exercise through the etenderwales portal https://etenderwales.bravosolution.co.uk.
