This programme of work aims to bring UK Geoenergy Observatories science and issues to life through a range of digital and physical educational and engagement resources for use with target audiences. The resources will become part of a broader communications and engagement programme being delivered by the BGS and NERC to engage people over the 15-year lifetime of the observatories with the science themes at the heart of the UK Geoenergy Observatories. These are: •Subsurface science •Open data from the deep •Environmental issues •Resource development •The role of independent scientific evidence Objectives The objectives of the outreach work are to: •Encourage more young people to consider geoscience and data science as career options •Excite, enthuse and engage all audience groups with UK Geoenergy Observatories research •Engage all audience groups with the relevance and importance of an independent evidence base for public good in environmental science •Equip and support researchers to communicate their research and its issues with a broad range of stakeholders •Equip people with the skills to understand the research method, process and its outputs
