Work is required for the construction of a series of footpaths at the Cwmcarn Forest Drive Visitor Centre. 01. Car park to Visitor Centre - Tarmac Footpath.02. Visitor Centre to Lake - Tarmac Footpath.03. Mountain Bike Car Park to Lake - Stone Dust Footpath.04. Lake to Steps Family Trail - Tarmac Footpath.05. New Family Trail - Stone Dust Footpath.06. Existing Numeracy Trail – Resurfacing with Stone to Dust07. Pithead wheel to valley floor – Stone Dust Footpath08. Supply and plant 50 semi mature Silver Birch trees.It is intended that the contract award be made as soon as possible after tender submissions and relevant internal reporting and health and safety and insurance checks have been completed.WEFO funding has been secured to asisst in the implementation of this project.The contract will be evaluated in two phases:Selection criteria as below:a) Contractors wishing to bid for this work must be Constructionline registered/approved and provide an active registration number and certificate. Failure to be registered will result in your submission being invalid.b) You must be able to complete the Works within 10 weeks from award of contract. (It is anticipated that the contract will be awarded by the 24th January 2011).c) Contractors must provide at least one reference and details of work of a similar structure. Failure to provide this will result in your submission being invalid.Award Criteria is lowest cost to specifcation (inclusive of the preamble to the specification detailed in the tender documents) which includes compliance with the below:a) Contractors must be able to complete the Works within 9 weeks from award of contract. (It is anticipated that the contract will be awarded by the 14 th of January 2011).b) All contractors are pre-liminarily checked for health and safety competence via a Pre tender questionnaire (available in the tender documents) and as such must satisfy and be approved by relevant health and safety officers of the Council. Failure to be approved will result in your tender submission being invalid. c) Prior to contract award the contractor must satisfy and be approved with regards to site specific method statements and risk assessments as detailed in the tender documents. Failure to satisfy this will result in the tender being awarded to the next lowest cost submission (and so on) subject to the same health and safety and insurance checks.
