Cycle2Work Scheme

Descriptions

Swansea University recognises the need to promote healthier journeys to work and to reduce environmental pollution. The University wishes to implement a ‘Cycle to Work Scheme’ that will allow an employee to lease a cycle and cyclists’ safety equipment through salary sacrifice as a tax-free benefit. The exemption is one of a series of measures introduced under the Government's Green Transport Plan, encouraging employees to cycle to work and allowing employers to reap the benefits of a healthier workforce. The hire agreement is between the employee and the scheme facilitator.
